Peter King's Dog and Pony Show

Importing opportunists and apologists from out of town and out of the country, and backed by one local wanna-be (more on that later), King attempted to justify his roundly criticized and unsucessful 2011 waste of the American taxpayers ,otherwise known as the King Homeland Security Hearings on Homegrown Radicalization, by spouting more of the same rhetoric, distortions and misrepreesentations in a new year. This is to be expected of him . We know him well by now.
As a matter of fact, since the Associated Press in the spirit of the COINTELPRO expose decades ago by Seymour Hersch of the NY Times, and the Woodward and Bernstein exposure of Watergate, and Julian Assange's Wiki-leaks, began to expose the NYPD's warrantless, wholesale surveillance of the Muslim community from the 5 boros and Long Island to New Haven,Conneticut to Newark, New Jersey, King has been very quiet.
Now with the help of his opportunistic, on someone's payroll friends and collaborationists (in the Black community we once called that type of person "house negroes" or "house niggers" , and "Uncle Toms"), he has apparently felt emboldened enough to once again appear at a press conference - a decision that he probably now regrets.
The press conference was one in which the media representatives far outnumbered the entire assembly of Muslim collaborationist, opportunistic supporters of the NYPD's surveillance program. To look at this well-dressed but nonetheless motley crew of at best 2 dozen people claiming to speak for the Muslim masses , one can only think of the above quote from American President Abraham Lincoln. Who do these people think they are fooling?
Over the past few months there have been two major rallies at the site (Foley Square, to One Police Plaza) where the members of the American Islamic Leadership Coalition gathered today (btw, who the hell are these people? They describe themselves as coming together to "....defend the US Constitution, uphold religious pluralism, protect American security and cherish genuine diversity in the practice of our faith of Islam". Hm-m-m-m-m, overlooking for a moment that they don't mention freedom, justice, or equality as core values, one must ask, who are the NEW YORKERS who defend the Constitution, uphold pluralism, protect American security and cherish diversity? Don't look now, but they are us - the ones who are against the NYPD's unjust policies! Don't believe it? Look at the Muslim signatoros of the various letters decrying this injustice and calling for redress.

Yes, I know Islamophobic fascists declare us to be American fronts for the Muslim Brotherhood. They present themselves as pro-security for all and us as against it - although when terrorist bombs strike they could and do victimize us all and our families (Can you say "Muslims killed on 9-11, or still sick from the clean-up, and still healing from trauma like ALL New Yorkers "?)
They (Islamophobic fascists) try to make it seem as if we are against all good police officers when THOUSANDS of our brothers, sisters, freinds, families, and congregants work in law enforcement for the NYPD, NY city and state corrections, FBI, etc. etc. Hey, I'm an imam. So let's get this straight. a bunch of people come into town led by a Muslim from Arizona (Jasser) and another from Canada (Fateh) , and they think they know better than those of us who are Muslim religious and civic leaders, professionals, students, activists and just plain ordinary folk who LIVE here??? also quite present was King's Muslim "expert" Zuhdi Jasser.
You remember him -the self-proclaimed "devout Muslim" whose film "The Third Jihad: Radical Islam's Vision for America" (You remember - the NYPD "un-training" film)
was even reluctantly denounced by Bloomberg and Kelly as "inflammatory" , AFTER it had been shown for a year to 1500 police officers. In the film Jasser claims to know and reveal "the true agenda of much of the Muslim leadership in America" as terrorism, and a conspiracy to subvert and take over the U.S. government through "infiltration and domination" ". He further describes himself in the film as "outcast" by much of the American Muslim leadership. What do you know, Muslim leaders do sometimes exercise good judgment !

a Canadian "activist" who doesn't believe for instance that Muslims in Canada should have the right to freedom of religious expression and choice, as they and other religious people do in the United States of America. He publicly has called for "burning the burka" and denounced Sharia complaint banking in Canada, but supports gay marriage - go figure.

He's the same "brother" who denounced those of us who boycotted Mayor Bloomberg's Breakfast, and said that we were probably terrorists. At the Peter King press conference though, the comvenors wouldn't let him speak.He did get a little press mention though. Perhaps the publicity will increase his marriage business. Congratulations Qazi, you are hereby awarded the "Muslim opportunist of the day award" !
This is the caliber of people that Peter King brought out for his dog and pony show to support the NYPD ! King himself eroded any respectability that he might have as a Congressman by denouncing the Associated Press and New York Times as "left-wing rumor mongers" . He insists that the media is engaged in a CONSPIRACY against the American people! Disgraceful - what political party is he a member of?

What a disreputable bunch of supporters for the leader of "New York's finest" ! Then again, Kelly deserves them because of his duplicity. No wonder the police commissioner is in so much trouble in spite of his bluster and bravado. Face it guys - the truth is against you. Mike Lupica, and the NY Daily News and NY Post editorial staffs may defend you, but the more you try to deceive ALL of the people ALL of the time, the more you will continued to be exposed and denigrated - Bloomberg as an "emperor with no clothes", and Kelly as pharoah's magician.

Tommorow, Tuesday, March 5 at 3pm Ray Kelly is cynically going to meet with a group of his hand-picked leaders so that he can say he's met with Muslim leaders about their concerns, just as he will say that after today's dog and pony show , Muslim leaders support the NYPD's actions. Let us look carefully and begin to identify Muslim opportunists and treat them with the disdain they deserve if they won't repent from their self-serving, collaborationist ways.
